As White as Snow

Matt and I have collected these posters of ours since 2006; our first concert together. This has become our family tradition, which we will share with our children when they are older. Every year, around Christmas, we travel to Nashville for the weekend and do a little shopping, dinner, and then enjoy this special concert. It's called Behold the Lamb of God created by one of our favorite singers and song writers Andrew Peterson. He, with the help of other incredible artists take you through the story of the birth of Christ with music, to celebrate Christmas every year. It's beautiful. You truly feel the Glory of God in the Ryman that night. His presence is noticeable and breathtaking.
The first half of the show the artists sing some of their own songs and then after intermission the story begins with an excerpt from our favorite children's Bible storybook, read by the author Sally Loyd-Jones...

Now, some people think the Bible is a book of rules, telling you what you should and shouldn't do. The Bible certainly does have some rules in it. They show you how life works best. But the Bible isn't mainly about you and what you should be doing. It's about God and what he has done.
No, the Bible isn't a book of rules, or a book of heroes. The Bible is most of all a Story. It's an adventure story about a young Hero who comes from a far country to win back his lost treasure. It's a love story about a brave Prince who leaves his palace, his throne - everything - to rescue the one he loves. It's like the most wonderful of fairy tales that has come true in real life!
You see, the best thing about this Story is - it's true.
There are lots of stories in the Bible, but all the stories are telling one Big Story. The Story of how God loves his children and comes to rescue them.
It takes the whole Bible to tell this Story. And at the center of the Story, there is a baby. Every Story in the Bible whispers his name. He is like the missing piece in a puzzle - the piece that  makes all the other pieces fit together, and suddenly you can see a beautiful picture.
And this is no ordinary baby. This is the Child on which everything would depend. This is the child who would one day - but wait. Our Story starts where all good stories start. Right at the very beginning...

Picture it now?

To commemorate this I got our posters heat-mounted at Hobby Lobby for $11.00 each. Eventually I will change the arrangement as I add more posters and other nicknacks to it. But for now I like the way it lines our little hallway.

The artists every year autograph the posters too, which makes it just that much more special.

And I love that they are always printed at Nashville's landmark Hatch Show Print Shop.

Oh, also it snowed last night. It knocked out our power for several hours; so we had a candlelight dinner, and it left us with this.

I can't help but think of Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool."
